Very well made pea coat. Very warm and comfortable. Good fit except the arms were a bit to long. Had it tailored now it fits perfect .
I have never before owned a peacoat, and I have never before written a review. I ordered a Classic peacoat in size 44 Long. I am 6' 2" and weight about 200 lbs. The day after I ordered this coat, I received a call from Jason at Fortune and Glory informing me that the Classic peacoat was out of stock in a 44L, but that he would be happy to substitute the Navigator peacoat for the same price, and I agreed. The coat arrived in 8 days. It is high quality, thick wool, and is either a very dark navy blue, or black (it looks black). The 44L was the correct size for me, although I would have liked to have had an extra 1/2 inch in the sleeve length. That being said, I think the 44 extra long would have been too long in the body. This is a great coat, and I like it very much. It is warm, and looks great; very much nicer than a similar coat I had ordered from a popular Wisconsin-based catalogue company. I would recommend Fortune and Glory, and the Sterlingwear peacoat to anyone.
The Navy Pea-coat is a timeless classic that has been around for 160 plus years and is as functional and stylish today as it has ever been. Anybody who is anybody has worn this jacket. Steve McQueen (The King of Cool), Paul Newman, and recently Daniel Graig (James Bond 007) himself, and many more famous and stylish dressers. There are many variations of this jacket out there on the market today, but a true navy Pea-coat has certain elements about it that the imitations just don't possess. The ones offered here are the real deal. They are as close to a Navy issued Pea-coat as you can get on the market today. The price point makes it a value that is hard, to impossible, to pass up. This is a legacy coat that will last decades if properly taken care of and never go out of style. This coat is an investment that you can pass down to your son, grandson, or other family member when or if you outgrow it :-) How many other pieces of wardrobe can you say that about? The quality, construction, and materials are excellent, but the best part is that it's made right here in the good 'ol U.S. of A by an American company and American employees. Now that is a patriotic purchase!
This is a great coat, quality material and detailed workmanship--incomparable to the cheaper, imported department store versions. We purchased it as a Christmas gift for our son and he couldn't have been more pleased.
Amazing craftsmanship and quality material. I opted for the classic because of the heavier weight material and insulation in the body and sleeves. I ordered my suit size and it fits perfectly over a shirt and tie. I wanted it to fit well without being baggy and to be warm enough for upstate New York winters. I am very pleased and your price point is exceptional. I hope this review is helpful for future buyers. These coats are better than what I had seen in department stores and are well worth the cost.
